A Day at the Library!

I decided to head down to the Salt Lake City Library to do some research and in the mean time make it a little enjoyable for Gracie soooooo we took the train! Grace was very excited and couldn't wait to get on! However, by the time we were nearly to the library - she was done and wanted off.
We got to the library right in time for game time. We played (or made an attempt at playing) dominoes, chess, checkers and some Spongebob crazy 8's. Nana and Papa had just spent the weekend before trying to teach her to play dominoes and boy did that come in handy!

Gracie loved riding the glass elevator from the 1st floor to the 5th floor and back again. Since the library didn't seem too busy we rode it a couple of times before heading to read some books!

And reading books is just what we did! We sat for a good hour on the great big bean bag and read stories! Such a wonderful part of being mommy. Ahhh I love it!

On the dreaded train ride home Grace was nearly asleep all relaxed in the chair. Amazing how a train ride can be so relaxing. And who said public transportation was bad?

Cupcakes

A couple of days ago, Gracie and I made cupcakes. Such a small task - you would think! With a 3 year old who demands to do everything by herself it can be a bit messy! I let her do almost everything by herself. From putting the ingredients in the bowl - watch out for egg shells - to pouring the batter in the cupcake pan, she had a blast. Just a few times was she more concerned about her hands getting dirty than making cupcakes at all. Just like mommy! :D
When it comes to frosting, it is just not something Gracie is a fan of - that or the tops of the cupcakes! So, we made 24 cupcakes - 12 frosted, 12 unfrosted, and I have tops of cupcakes scattered in the garbage from her ripping them off because "I no like" she said.

Growing up so fast!

It's hard to believe my baby is driving and my other baby is in preschool. Where does the time go? Why does it always seem to go by so fast? I have decided that in my spare time (laugh as you may) I will start blogging. I don't seem to have enough time anymore with school to keep up with family and friends and share new milestones, ideas, and pictures.......I'm sure this will too become another item on my "Things I need to catch up on" list. But until that time comes, I hope you all enjoy a little bit of us - Crazy, hectic, chaotic yet structured. For the most part!
